Patrick is a founding member of Coding & Compliance Initiatives, Inc (CCI). CCI assists hospitals, health systems and medical groups improve their outcomes in the core operational areas of documentation quality, coding and billing accuracy, compliance with healthcare regulations and charge capture. CCI has become an education resource for the physicians and internal coding/billing professionals.
Additionally, Patrick co-founded S&S Healthcare Services, LLC, a medical billing company focused on physician professional component services for independent medical clinics and hospital owned physician groups.
Patrick started his career working as a healthcare auditor focused on Medicare cost report reimbursements for hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rural health clinics and outpatient rehab facilities. He then moved to BKD as a healthcare and management consultant working with a wide range of healthcare providers in operational improvement areas such as labor productivity, work process flow, charge capture and corporate compliance.
Over the course of his career, Patrick has consistently delivered outstanding results for his clients by improving billing and cash flow, reducing unnecessary costs and improving compliance with health care regulations.
Patrick holds an MS in Accounting and BS in Accounting from University of Missouri – Columbia, and became a certified public accountant (CPA) in 1996.
John is an executive with 35 years of experience including the last twelve years as President of Toren Consulting. John is a market leader supporting both large and small organizations achieving outstanding results. An actuary by training, he understands the importance of pleasing the customer and meeting the financial and operational needs of the organization. He has consistently delivered results by building and developing teams that work hard and take added steps to satisfy clients.
After John completed his military service with the Army, he started his career with Peat, Marwick, & Mitchell in their human resource consulting department. His success in this area lead to a promotion and opportunity to work with one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. During this time, John excelled at generating value for all his clients through thoughtful innovation and leadership.
John moved to Columbus, Ohio and soon became a principal with Coopers & Lybrand. He was put in charge of their Louisville, KY practice and ultimately was asked to manage the Columbus practice as well. This role provided John with extensive and varied industry knowledge and experience, which is currently being applied to the benefit and success of his existing clients.
John holds a BA in Mathematics & Computer Science from Hope College and a Masters in Actuarial Science from University of Michigan Business School.
John is also active in the philanthropic community serving in his local church board and on the Finance Committee of the Center for Practical Bioethics.
